Troops rescue kidnapped women in Kaduna

Troops of the Nigerian Army under the auspices of Operation Thunder Strike have rescued two kidnapped women around Gadanin Gwari, Gwagwada District of Chikun Local government area of Kaduna State.
The women were abducted on their way to the farm as troops on patrol tracked down the criminals and engaged them in a firefight, forcing them to abandon their captives and ran away.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel.
According to him, after securing the women, the troops pursued the bandits, as well as destroyed many bandit camps along the way. The bandits were eventually trapped in Gajina settlement in Chikun LGA.
Kidnappers in Custody
Aruwan disclosed that, three of the kidnappers were apprehended and are now in custody while the rescued women have returned to their homes.
He further stated that, the troops in collaboration with the newly inducted troops of the Nigerian Army Women Corps have continued aggressive patrols along Kaduna-Abuja highway and the patrol was reported as hitch-free, with no incidents recorded.
In a separate incident, Police personnel rescued two persons who were abducted at Kurmin Idon axis of Kaduna-Kachia road in Kajuru Local government area.
The Commissioner said the police went after the bandits and rescued the two victims, while one other victim was able to escape on his own.
He said Governor Nasiru El-Rufai has expressed satisfaction with the reports, and commended the troops and personnel for their pro-active efforts in rescuing the victims and arresting the three bandits.
