The Chief of Army Staff COAS Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede said the Nigerian Army under his watch places high premium on troops’ training, describing it as a panacea for operational effectiveness and optimisation.
The Army Chief who stated this on Thursday 3 April 2025 while addressing officers and soldiers on assessment of ongoing troops’ training at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, during his working visit in Kachia, Kaduna State.
He stressed that only well trained personnel would be able to perform optimally when deployed for operations.
In a statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, General Oluyede urged the troops to remain focused and dedicated by giving their best during the training.
He said urged them be prepared to apply their newly acquired skills to make a difference in the field while commending the training team for their efficiency in handling the training sessions and pledged more support to the training centre to sustain the production of well trained soldiers for the Nigerian Army.
The COAS charged the soldiers to remain disciplined and professional to justify the huge investment in their training.
