Trump Confirms Talks with Groups on TikTok Sale

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that his administration is discussing with four different groups regarding the sale of Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok, emphasising that all options remain viable.

TikTok’s future has been uncertain since a law mandating its parent company, ByteDance, to sell the platform on national security grounds or face a ban took effect on January 19. Upon assuming office on January 20, Trump signed an executive order delaying the enforcement of the law by 75 days to allow for further negotiations.

“We’re dealing with four different groups, and a lot of people want it … all four are good,” he added.

The turmoil at TikTok has attracted several potential buyers, including former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, who have expressed interest in the fast-growing business analysts estimate could be worth as much as $50 billion.
