Tunisian citizen found slain after terrorist operation

A Tunisian citizen was found slain in the Slatnia region of Kasserine province in west-central Tunisia, Tunisian government said in a statement.

“The cowardly terrorist operation was carried out in the province of Kasserine,” according to the statement.

The victim was discovered in a closed military zone, known for suspicious movements of certain terrorist groups operating in this mountainous region and affiliated with Jund al-Khilafah linked to the Islamic State.

“Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi instructed the interior minister to go to Kasserine and present condolences and all the psychological and material support to the family of the victim,” the statement said.

Mechichi also instructed the defense and interior ministers to intensify efforts to uncover the circumstances of this crime and arrest the perpetrators and planners.

“The war against terrorism must continue to eliminate all those who attack the security of Tunisia and the Tunisians,” Mechichi concluded.
