Turkey’s Trade Deficit Widens By 138.4%
The Turkish trade deficit widened 138.4% from the previous year to $110.19 billion in 2022, the Trade Ministry said on Monday.
The Turkish trade ministry also said exports rose by 12.9% to hit $254.2 billion.
However, imports jumped by 34.3% to $364.4 billion.
Meanwhile, in comparison to 2021, the trade deficit in the country widened by 52% from a year earlier to $10.381 billion in December 2022.
In addition, exports were up by 3.1% to $22.92 billion while imports rose by 14.6% to $33.30 billion.
