UDUTH Spent N2 Billion on Radiotherapy, others in 2 Years- CMD

The Chief Medical Director of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Professor Anas Ahmed Sabir, says the hospital has spent about two billion naira for the procurement of new radiotherapy machine and training of staff to Tanzania.

Professor Sabir stated this at the “2023 Best Staff Award” and first in history held at the hospital auditorium in Sokoto State.

 

According to him, the hospital is conducting many operations which includes; Open heart surgery, indoorscopic surgeries as well as radiotherapy.

 

“Our personnel are in Tanzania receiving training on how to operate our new brand radiotherapy machine and in couple of weeks the learnard will be on board.

 

” this is a place where we spend about two billion naira as at 2 years ago and more progress are coming people didn’t know.

 

“we do a lots of things in the hospital, because we have skilled staff, but many people don’t appreciate, since people don’t appreciate so we feel to appreciate our own,” Professor Sabir said.

 

He commended all staff of the hospital for their commitments, especially during COVID-19 pandemic on how they stood and manage the situation, despite challenges for the overall health of the country.

 

The Chief Medical Director urged staff of the hospital to continue to maintain the tempo towards enhancing the hospital services across the country.

 

He congratulated the recipients of the awards and assured to expand the exercise to encourage staff to redouble efforts in discharging their duties.

 

The best Doctor of the year in the department of Gynaecology, Dr Ibrahim G. Ango, who spoke on behalf of others expressed their gratitude to the hospital management and the award committee for recognizing their contribution to development of the hospital.

 

He said the award was a sign of commitments by the hospital to encourage staff to redouble more efforts to move the hospital forward.

 

Dr Ango pledged to continue to give their best and urged other staff to do more and benefits from forthcoming awards.

 

The event was attended by former CMD of the hospital Professor Yakubu, CMAC and their Deputies, Director Administration of the hospital, Chairman of the Award Committee, Professor Abubakar Sani and other management staff among others.
