Dauda while speaking on approval of 65/40yrs harmonised retirement age for tutors approved by the Nigerian Government two years ago, said many states like Kano, Kogi, Adamawa, among others have implemented it.

The State’s Chapter appealed to Governor Uba Sani to approve the 65/40 years harmonized retirement age for the tutors in Kaduna State just as the N30,000 minimum wage was implemented in the State.

The Union also appealed to the State Government to intensify efforts towards securing lives and properties of citizens, particularly in schools.

According to him “In practice, to become a good teacher you must employ certain attitudes; be flexible, be accommodative, be willing to change for better. You should exercise and follow the following advice.”

While advising the Teachers to always inculcate a sense of purpose, Silas explained that teachers cannot be good in a general sense, rather can be good in a particular area.

“As a teacher, this means that you know what your students expect, and you make plans to meet those expectations. You too, have expectations about what happens in your classroom, based on the goals you’re trying to achieve. If you want the best out of your students, encourage them to attend classes and be punctual.”

The Chairman of the Occasion, Sunday Gandu charged teachers not to misuse opportunities given to them as teachers.
