The hospitals’ Governing Board Chairman, Mr Niyi Owolade, said this in a programme organised by the League of Veteran Journalists in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Owolade said the turnaround story of the teaching hospital started at the inception of Gov. Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

He said that due to the sensitivity of the health sector, the present administration had budgeted some amount to make the state healthcare delivery services better than 2024.

According to him, the teaching hospital, though overwhelmed, is working hard to achieve its aims.

“We urge the government to put in more resources to the teaching hospital, just as we appreciate what our staff put in daily.

“Although, we have something in our budget that is better than last year, we can never stop to ask for more,” Owolade said.

He said the institution had tamed the japa syndrome tide and that the state government had promised to approve the request for more medical personnel for better healthcare delivery.
