The Government of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has commended the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC and Trade Union Congress for their Unity in the State.
The Special Assistant to the Governor of the State, Janifer Nwafor disclosed this in an interview with Journalists in Abakaliki the State Capital.
The Special Assistant said the Unity would help the unions to achieve a lot for the workers.
“Before now, Ebonyi State used to have two factions of NLC and since then, workers have never celebrated in this grand style. But thank God that during the last NLC State Congress, they were able to elect professor Oguguo Egwu to be their State Chairman and I believe that this union will achieve a lot for Ebonyi workers.“ She said.
Mrs Adibe also commended the efforts of the state Governor, David Umahi in ensuring the regular payment of salaries and other entitlements.
She informed them that Umahi has just approved the payment of Pension and Gratuity for retirees.
The Special Assistant further informed that the state has also empowered the workers in various capacities.
She solicited workers’ continuous support to enable the State Government to do more for them.
