University Honours Nigeria’s First Lady Remi Tinubu

The Federal University Dutsinma, (FUDMA), in north west, Nigeria, will honour the wife of the Nigeria’s President, Remi Tinubu for her exemplary leadership and concern on Girls Child Education in the country.

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Dutsinma, Professor Armaya’u Bichi announced this at a press briefing on the line up activities for the university 9th convocation ceremony to be held next Saturday 2nd November 2024

Professor Bichi said that Remi Tinubu who tops the list of the awardees will be honoured by the university during the 9th Convocation ceremony.

“During the Convovation, we are going to also honoured four (4) eminent Nigerians who distinguished them selves in various activities they have been doing in moving the country forward.

“The first in the list is Her Excellency, the Wife of the President, Remi Tinubu for her exemplary leadership and concern to the Girls Child Education and Development”. he said.

The Vice chancellor lauded the role played by the First Lady in securing the release of the University’s female students who were kidnapped and the scholarship she awarded to them after their release which they are still enjoying.

He said base on her record toward the development of Girls Child Education the university found her worthy for the award.

“When our Five students were kidnapped, she had been on it, following keenly until they were released.

“And when they were released, she asked to take them to Abuja, hosted them at the Villa and gave them permanent scholarship which they are still enjoying, even in this academic year she paid their school fees.

‘She will be awarded with an Honorary Doctorate Degree, Honoris Causa in English”, Armaya’u stated.
