UNIZIK Hosts Academic Writing, Presentation Bootcamp

The One-Day Staff Training Bootcamp on Academic Writing and Presentation at UNIZIK’s Faculty of Agriculture, Awka Anambra State, has proven to be a resounding success. Themed “Publish with Confidence, Promote with Ease,” the event brought together academics, researchers, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for enhancing research visibility through effective publishing.

 

The highlight of the event was a presentation by Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, MD/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, on advancing digital libraries and academic repositories under Soludo’s Solution Administration. His insights shed light on bridging the gap between research and digital infrastructure, emphasizing initiatives like high-speed broadband and cloud-based digital libraries.

 

“With a focus on accessible research and ethical AI use, the bootcamp has set the stage for impactful collaborations and advancements in the academic realm,” Agbata added.

 

In his opening remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, represented by Prof. Joseph Ikeji, stressed the importance of confidence in academic writing, encouraging participants to focus on producing impactful, problem-solving work.

 

In her remarks, Chairperson of the occasion and National Librarian and CEO of the National Library of Nig Prof. Chinwe Anunobi, represented by Dr. Ngozi Osuchukwu, representing spoke on the need for accessible research, promoting open access platforms like Google Scholar and Wikipedia, and advocating for ethical AI use in academic writing.

 

Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalist Anambra State Council, Dr. Emeka Odogwu represented by Tochukwu Ifejika, stressed the importance of confidence in academic writing and collaborating with the media for wider dissemination of research work.

 

The event also featured renewed commitments from stakeholders to foster a thriving academic environment where research is amplified globally.
