Urban Forestry Donates Seed Of Baobab Tree To Anambra State

The Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, in line with his afforestation program , the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Environment, Awka received 50,000 seeds of the baobab tree for planting at the various forests reserves across the state.

Commissioner of Environment in the state,Engineer Felix Odimegwu, received the 50,000 seeds of the baobab tree from Mr. Saheed Akinbogun Woods-Ali, CEO of Ewenia Urban Forestry Ibadan in Oyo State.

The donation came from Ewenia Urban Forestry Ibadan Oyo State as a support towards the Town Hall Meeting on environmental sustainability-themed ‘Clean, Green and Sustainable Anambra: Taking Ownership; A Community Participation Approach organized by the Ministry of Environment Anambra State.

According to Odimegwu, “it is mandatory to preserve and sustain our environment with the fact that the afforestation program is on course and the conservation of the environment is our top priority.

As you cut down a tree for your economic or residential activities, it’s mandatory to replant at least five trees”.
