US appoints Nigerian Chief of Surgery

The Nigerian Government has congratulated Dr Ohwofiemu Nwariaku on his appointment as the new Chief of Surgery at University of Uta, USA.

In a congratulatory message, the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM,  Abike Dabiri-Erewa  said Nwariaku’s appointment was not surprising as he has proven his leadership prowess and passion for his chosen profession.

She urged him not to relent in his service to humanity, but remain focused and strive to achieve more in the service of mankind.

Nwariaku graduated from the University  of Ibadan, College of Medicine (UCH), Ibadan in 1987.

He did his internship at Baptist Hospital in Ogbomosho where he distinguished himself and ended up at UTSW in Dallas, USA for residency in surgery.

Dr Ohwofiemu Nwariaku, who is a medical practitioner,  will resume as the New Chief of Surgery at the University of Utah, USA, effective July 1, 2022.
