Afrobeats Superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has kicked off his highly anticipated five-city Nigeria music tour with an electrifying performance at the 30,000-capacity Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The opening concert, which marked the start of the Davido 5ive Tour Nigeria, drew an enthusiastic crowd that filled the stadium, as the award-winning artiste delivered an outstanding and energetic performance.
Davido, supported by top indigenous artistes including Ikpa Ido, Fiokee, Aquilla Bellz, Sagas, and others, thrilled the audience with many of his hit songs, including Funds, Unavailable, and Feel.

Among those in attendance was the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, who led members of the State Executive Council, House of Assembly, and captains of industry to the event in a show of support for the artiste and the entertainment industry.

Earlier in the day, during a joint courtesy call on the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Davido commended the State’s infrastructure and hospitality.
“The facilities in Akwa Ibom State are comparable to what we have seen in the United States. This state has everything we need. I look forward to eating Afang soup,” Davido said with a smile during the courtesy visit.

The Senate President and the State Governor both commended the artist for bringing his tour to the state, describing it as a boost to Nigeria’s creative economy and a source of pride for the youth.
Announcing the Nigeria leg of his tour earlier, Davido had said: “I’m blessed to perform all around the world, and everywhere I go, Nigeria goes with me. But this time… I’m bringing it HOME. This one’s for the culture. This one’s personal. This one’s for US.”
The Davido 5ive Tour Nigeria, which commenced in Uyo on October 26, will continue in Adamawa on October 29, Enugu on November 1, Ibadan on November 9, and will climax in Lagos on December 25, in what is expected to be a grand finale celebrating Nigerian music and unity.

Akwa Ibom, as a global tourism and event destination, has attracted millions of visitors, further underscoring the State’s growing profile as Nigeria’s emerging hub for leisure, creativity, and sustainable tourism.
