The Value Chain Development Program (VCDP), Nasarawa State, has engaged journalists in the state in a roundtable for the development of the 2026 action plan.
Speaking at the event in Lafia, the state capital, the Programme Coordinator, FGN/IFAD-VCDP, Nasarawa State, Dr Eunice Adgizi, appreciated the journalists for being dependable partners all through the year and for heightening the partnership.
She charged them to ensure accuracy and quality documentation of programme activities through their media channels for the development of the programme.

Dr Adgizi explained that the objective of the Value Chain Development Programme is to sustainably improve the livelihoods of rural farmers.
She further revealed the three components through which VCDP is being implemented.
“Market Development Component—This component focuses on profitability enhancement of smallholder farmers and small/medium-scale agro-processors delivered through improved access to markets and value addition to locally produced raw materials.”
“Small Holder Productivity Enhancement Component – The Component focuses on the enhancement of smallholder farmer productivity on an economically and environmentally sustainable basis.”
“The Programme Coordination and Management component—this component will ensure that the programme is efficiently and effectively managed to achieve expected results by integrating gender, youth, environment, monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, and communication considerations in all aspects of the programme,” she noted.
Also speaking, the Knowledge Management and Communication Officer, FGN/IFAD-VCDP, Nasarawa State,
Mr Akwe, Samson Jonah, said journalists must understand the expectations of VCDP donors vividly when reporting.
He further appreciated the journalists for their reportage throughout the year, explaining the components of the success story when reporting VCDP, and gave the challenges and implications of poor documentation and the way out.
