As part of the new structure, Vertiv has reorganized its operations into four key regions, each overseen by a dedicated regional director. This strategic move aims to bring the company closer to its customers and better tailor its solutions to local market demands.

In Northwest Africa, Zineb Kamri, based in Casablanca, Morocco, will lead operations. Ehab El Hefnawy, based in Cairo, Egypt, will manage the Northeast Africa region. Gary Chomse will oversee Central-Southern Africa from Johannesburg, South Africa, and will also have responsibilities for operations in Lagos, Nigeria. Rohan Patil, based in Nairobi, Kenya, will head the Eastern Africa region.

The regional directors report directly to Vertiv’s Managing Director for Africa, Wojtek Piorko. Each director brings years of experience in leadership roles within the company, accumulating extensive knowledge across Africa and beyond. The new assignments and strategic restructuring are designed to bring Vertiv closer to both its partners and customers, strengthen relationships and collaboration, and enable quicker deployment of components, products, training, and services for faster response times.

“This strategic move positions Vertiv closer to its local customers, enabling a deeper understanding of their unique needs and a more effective response to local market dynamics within each region,” explains Piorko. “It will also facilitate the strategic alignment of resource investments with market growth and customer expectations.”

“By enhancing our regional presence, Vertiv aims to support African businesses in their digital transformation journeys, providing them with access to experienced experts and a broad portfolio of power, cooling, IT management and services solutions to help accelerate the growth of compute in the region,” Piorko adds.
