Vice President Shettima Arrives In Saudi Arabia

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has landed at the Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

On arrival on Monday afternoon, the Vice President was received by Abdulmohsen Bin Nayef Bin Hamed, the Deputy Governor of Madina Region, along with Nigerian diplomatic officials, including Ambassador Mu’azzam Nayaya, Consulate General of Jeddah.

The Vice President is in Medina for a visit to the Holy Mosque of the Prophet Muhammad and other holy sites before proceeding to Mecca where he will perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah).

On December 20, 2024, VP Shettima is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah.

Discussions at the meeting will centre on co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones Phase II, as well as enhancing coordination of the Islamic Development Bank’s projects in Nigeria to support the country’s agricultural and economic development.
