The Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, has expressed his desire to revitalise the VON corporation to compete on a global scale.
Malam Baba Ndace stated this while receiving the Head of Hausa Service of DW Radio, Malam Mohammed Nasir Auwal on Tuesday at VON’s Headquarters in Abuja.
He further hinted that as part of its expansion strategy, the Voice of Nigeria will introduce Portuguese, Mandarin, and Baharsa languages into its services to increase its international presence towards fulfilling one of its key mandates.
The Director General then assured DW of reviving and improving on the existing relationship and emphasizing content provision and training opportunities for both organisations.
The DW Radio Germany team were in Nigeria to meet their correspondents and strengthen their relationship with partner stations.
Malam Mohammed Nasir Auwal, Head of the Hausa Service at DW Radio Germany, said they were in VON to explore broadcast and training collaborations.
He commended Voice of Nigeria for having sustained a symbiotic relationship with DW over the years as many staff of VON have spent fruitful times in DW Radio in Germany.
He then extended an invitation to the Director General of Voice of Nigeria to attend the global media forum in Germany next year, offering an opportunity for increased exposure to DW Radio’s activities in the field of broadcast Journalism.
