Voice of Nigeria (VON), in collaboration with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and First Bank of Nigeria, commemorated the International Day of Banks with a focus on delivering value and contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Speaking at the event held in Lagos, the Zonal Head of FCMB, Hajia Rafat Muhammed, emphasised that the banking sector goes beyond providing financial services. “It is about the impact we make, the lives we touch, and the businesses we help grow,” she stated.

To achieve more in terms of impact and build a sustainable economy, she called for more collaboration among financial institutions, government bodies, and private enterprises.

“At FCMB, we remain committed to making a difference. We can turn ideas into action and aspirations into achievements by working together,” she said.

For his part, the Deputy Director of Digital Media at Voice of Nigeria, Dr Qasim Akinreti, challenged the management of FCMB to key into the opportunities available in the VON Housing projects in Lugbe, Abuja, to make lasting impacts on members of staff of the media house.

The programme organised by the SPDC department of Voice of Nigeria in commemoration of the annual International Day of Banks designated for December 4th had the theme Empowering Sustainable Development through Finance.
