The Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, on Monday welcomed a delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) led by its President, Mr. Ike Neliaku as part of efforts to deepen partnership between the two organisations.

The NIPR team came to congratulate Malam Ndace on his appointment as the DG of VON, the country’s external radio service, and to seek collaboration on various programmes aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s image and reputation.

Ndace, who is also a member of the NIPR governing council, expressed his readiness to partner with the institute on initiatives such as Rebirth Nigeria, which promotes values re-orientation, citizenship education, made-in-Nigeria goods, and excellence in service delivery.

He said; “My focus is to deepen collaborations with partners both at home and abroad to tell the true Nigerian story.”

“If we understand the importance of creating the right narratives as a country, 60% of our problems would have been solved,” he said.

Neliaku praised Malam Ndace for his quality and professionalism, saying he was confident that he would lead VON to greater heights.

He also welcomed an offer from VON to host a weekly programme that explores how public relations contributes to national development.

The meeting was part of the NIPR’s efforts to engage with key stakeholders in the media and communication sector, as well as to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023.
