VP Osinbajo preaches unity in Gombe

Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has visited Gombe State, where he reassured Nigerians that their prayers of unity, peace and progress of the country are victorious, above those wishing for the country’s breaks up.

The Vice President, said this when he paid homage to the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu III, on the sideline of the 27th edition of National Micro Small and Medium Enterprise, MSME, Clinic and also flag off the distribution of Corporate Affairs Commission’s free Business Registration Certificates, as well as Formalization visit to support Survival Fund and Gombe Industrial Clusters.

Prof. Osinbajo was said those propagating evil and trying to create disunity in the country should desist from such utterances, because Nigeria would continue to remain one.

“Nigeria is one and we believe in unity therefore those causing problems should stop because they will not succeed. This country will remain one. Those praying for Nigeria’s break up will not succeed because those praying against such are much in number,” said Prof. Osinbajo.

He said those praying for the success and growth of Nigeria were more than those praying for its break-up.

He commended the rapid development he had seen in Gombe state from road constructions, Health Care facilities among other projects while thanking the Emir for the reception accorded him.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said he considered the visit a special one, because of the developmental projects the VP saw on ground, while reiterating his government’s readiness to give the Federal Government all the needed support to implement its projects in the state.

He said Gombe State had gained the cosmopolitan status because of its position in the centre and equally the commercial centre for activities in the Northeast while giving the assurance that the state would give the Federal Government all the necessary support to conducts its programmes and activities.

Also, the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu the III said the VP’s visit was an honour to the state.

The Gombe Monarch equally commended the Inuwa Yahaya led administration for the transformation brought to the State in the areas of road construction, agriculture and health.

He specifically commended the Federal Government for the establishment of one of the largest livestock reserves in Wawa-Zange, in the state.
