Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is presiding over the virtual meeting of the National Economic Council, NEC, which began at 11.00am Nigerian time on Thursday.
Issues that may come up on the agenda of the meeting include security, the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination and the economy.
The meeting will also get updates on Nigeria’s Stabilization Account, the Excess Crude Account and the Natural Resource Development Fund Account.
Governors of the 36 states are participating in the meeting from their offices in the state capitals.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, the Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mele Kyari, are among other government officials attending the meeting.
