Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima on Sunday arrived in Rome, Italy, at the United Nations Food Systems Summit, to represent Nigeria at the UN Food Systems Summit holding from Monday, 24th to Wednesday, 26th July, 2023.
Vice President Shettima was received at the Leonardo Da Vinci Airport at about 7:45 pm, Italian time, by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Italy, Mfawa Omini Abam; Head, of the Consular Department, Nigerian Embassy in Italy, Ugochukwu Onuzulike and President of the Nigerian Community in Rome; Chima Ibezim.
At Monday’s opening event, the Vice President will chair high-level sessions under the theme “Innovative Financing for Food System Transformation: the Case of Nigeria,” and the side event on ”Scaling up Multi Stakeholders Collaboration and Investment in the Implementation of Food Systems Transformation Pathways in Nigeria.”
He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Summit.
Vice President Shettima is accompanied on the trip by Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Agriculture, Environment, and other senior government officials.
