Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has commenced the distribution of 30,000 bags of 10kg rice, donated by Aliko Dangote, to support vulnerable groups across the state.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Lafia, Governor Sule emphasised that the donation aims to ease economic hardship for the less privileged.

He expressed deep appreciation to Dangote for his generosity, reaffirming that “the rice is strictly meant for vulnerable groups and not for government officials.”

He further announced that religious organisations, security agencies, and the media would also benefit from the initiative.

To ensure fair distribution, each Local Government Area (LGA) will receive 2,007 bags, while the remaining stock will be allocated to identified vulnerable groups.

To guarantee transparency and accountability, the Governor assigned traditional rulers, Commissioners, and Local Government Chairmen to oversee distribution in their respective areas.

Speaking on behalf of the Dangote Foundation, Abdullahi Rilwan, General Manager of Community Relations, reaffirmed that “the initiative aligns with Dangote’s commitment to humanitarian support, ensuring that those in need receive critical food assistance.”
