Wages Commission, MINILS Partner to achieve mandate

The Secretary, National Salaries, incomes and Wages Commission, Engineer David Isho Nyikyaa has expressed optimism that the Commission’s collaboration with the Michael lmoudu National institute for Labour Studies, will bring more robust relationship between Nigeria employers and Employees.

According to him, such collaboration will also involve examining job evaluation and other activities aimed at further repositioning the institute to deliver its mandate.

Mr Nyikyaa expressed these views in Ilorin the Kwara State Capital, North Central Nigeria on Thursday while addressing the management and staff of the Institute.

He disclosed that the mission of the commission at the institute was not for any salary review or adjustment but purely on manpower development, training and to discuss potential areas of collaboration.

According to the Secretary, the collaboration would allow the Commission to examine the operations of the institute including staff welfare.

Earlier the Director-General of the institute, Comrade lssa Aremu had called on Nigerians to support the Federal government towards the realization of sustainable development goal.

Comrade Aremu disclosed that the sustainable development goal has 17 goals that must be met for more development to be attained in Nigeria.

He expressed optimism that the collaboration will achieve the intended purpose inline with dedicated workforce in the institute.

The event which featured questions and answer session and cross fertilization of ideas on the success of the collaboration between the staff of the institute and the Technical team of the National Salaries, lncomes and Wages Commission later ended up in technical Sessions.

The two day event ended on Friday while a communique is expected to be issued on the outcome of sessions. View pictures of the event below:

    This is the way to go, the DG Com Issa Aremu mni is sure charting a new course for the Institute by fostering partnership.
