Wassa Projects Driving Urban Renewal in FCT – FCT State minister

The Minister of state in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Administration, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has revealed that the ongoing Infrastructural developments by the Satellite Town Department at WASSA community is driving the Urban Renewal Initiative in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Minister who was represented at a site Inspection tour of the WASSA Affordable Housing and Resettlement sites respectively, by the Coordinator STDD, Comrade Obinna Francis Ogwuegbu expressed satisfaction at the pace of work at these sites.

She further conveyed the resolve of the Administration in stepping up it drive at improving the lives of the teeming inhabitants of the Satellite communities.

The Minister noted that the successful completion of all the projects will be a great and giant leap in furtherance to the fulfillment of the the FCTA’s mandate of building new satellite communities.

Dr Aliyu who expressed satisfaction with the level of work at both sites of the projects also encouraged the contractors to continue in their consistent stride of delivering good and quality work .

She further promised that the Mohammad Buhari led government will keep doing its possible best at ensuring that diligent and result oriented contractors receive the government’s support in the execution of projects.

The minister also emphasized that the completion of various road projects at the Satellite towns will further open up the Satellite towns and put an end to the hardship farmers and motorists experience while trying to convey their produce beyond the Satellite towns to other parts of the Territory.

She commended President Mohammad Buhari for all the ongoing landmark projects in the FCT, which she said is redefining the FCT landscape adding that these will arrest the traffic gridlock at the satellite towns into the city center.

She also hailed the company handling the project “Gilmor” for the provision of a Station for the Nigerian Police at WASSA, thus providing a conducive office and residential accomodations for men and officers of the Nigerian Police Force.

She advised the police to take good care of the property as it aids them in the discharge of their duties.

The Minister then encouraged them to continue the good work noting that she is indeed readily committed to assist at making sure the jobs are delivered timely

Dr Aliyu further reiterated that the Administration is not relenting in developing the satellite towns, thereby turning them to modern and model cities.

The Management of Gilmor Company handling the project promised to continue with their drive and speed on the project and also reaffirmed the commitment of Gilmor to deliver quality works as they have always done but appealed to the Government at timely and consistent release of funds.
