We Will Develop, Implement Policies to Protect Environment – Minister
Dr. Ishaq Salako, the new Minister of State for Environment, has pledged to prioritize environmental sustainability in order to create a better society.
“As the Ministry of Environment, it is our duty to showcase that Nigeria is truly a giant in the environmental sector,” Salako said.
“We will do this by working with all stakeholders to ensure that our environment is protected and preserved for future generations.”
Salako acknowledged the importance of the environment for human existence, and he emphasized that a safe environment is essential for a country to progress rapidly.
“We cannot achieve sustainable development without factoring in the environment,” he said. That is why we are committed to working with all stakeholders to develop and implement policies that will protect our environment.”
Salako also expressed his commitment to fostering a positive working relationship with the ministry’s management and staff.
“I believe that we can achieve great things if we work together,” he said. “I am confident that we can make Nigeria a leader in the environmental sector.”
Mr. Charles Ikeah, the Director of the Pollution Control and Environmental Health Department, Federal Ministry of Environment, assured Salako of his full support in carrying out his responsibilities.
“We are committed to supporting you in any way we can,” Ikeah said.
“We believe that you are the right person to lead the Ministry of Environment into a new era of environmental sustainability.”
Salako’s appointment is seen as a positive step by environmental stakeholders. They believe that he is a strong advocate for environmental protection, and they are confident that he will make a difference in the ministry.

Mr. Femi Ogundele, the Executive Director of the Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth Nigeria. “We believe that he will be a strong voice for environmental protection in Nigeria.”
Salako’s appointment comes at a time when Nigeria is facing a number of environmental challenges, including air pollution, water pollution, and deforestation.
He will be tasked with developing and implementing policies to address these challenges and to promote environmental sustainability in Nigeria.
