West Africa: ECOWAS Receives Newly Appointed Ambassadors

President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, has received Letters of Credence from four newly appointed ambassadors at the ECOWAS Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.

The occasion marks a significant step in reinforcing diplomatic ties between ECOWAS and its international partners.

Following the presentation ceremony, Dr. Touray held discussions with the ambassadors, focusing on areas of existing and potential collaboration aligned with the Commission’s four strategic objectives.

He reaffirmed ECOWAS’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and expanding cooperation with their respective countries to foster shared prosperity and sustainable development across the West African region.

The newly accredited envoys include:
• H.E. Andrey Podelyshev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation
• H.E. Pasquale Salvaggio, High Commissioner of Canada
• H.E. Mersole J. Mellejor, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines
• H.E. Patrick Egloff, Ambassador of Switzerland

The meeting underscored ECOWAS’s dedication to international diplomacy and its ongoing efforts to enhance regional integration through strategic global partnerships.
