West Africa Elders Urgue Liberian Citizens Free And Fair Elections

The West Africa Elders Forum (WAEF), Election Mission to Liberia, headed by the Nigeria former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and his deputy head the former Prime Minister of Burkinabo Faso, Mr. Kadrie Desire Ouedrago, has urged Liberia Citizens a violence free Election. He made the statement at the close of the Liberia political campaign in Monrovia.
According to him, ” we note that Liberia has, in the last two decades, established a striking culture of peaceful elections and seamless transitions, we urged all stakeholders to strive to maintain the tradition by working to make 2023 election transparent, free and fair”.
He went further to appeal, ” we urge the political candidates and voters to be law abiding and avoid actions that could have a negative impact on the elections and threaten the peace and stability the country has witnessed since the end of the civil war”.
“We note the commitment to non-violent, free, fair and transparent electoral process, as demostrated by the signing of the Farmington River Declaration and urged all political candidates to abide by the dictates of the peace accord. He added.
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan also urged Liberia Politicans to advice their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and maintain law and order during and after the elections.
He also advised the National Electoral Commission (NEC), and all security agencies in Liberia to exercise their mandate in accordance with the nation’s laws in order to build trust and guarantee the integrity of the elections.
