Wife Of Lagos State Governor Welcomes Babies Of 2024

The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has welcomed the Babies of the year with a commitment to providing more quality healthcare services to the residents in line with the development agenda of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

Dr Sanwo-Olu who visited four different hospitals in the state to welcome the newborns said their birth was a thing of joy.

Selected public hospitals include; Badagry General Hospital, Maternal and Child Centre, Amuwo-Odofin, Ajeromi General Hospital and Apapa General Hospital.

The First Lady in company of dignitaries who visited and presented gifts to the first babies and other patients said her office would create enabling environment for all to thrive while urging Lagosians to key in to various programmes designed for to uplift their wellbeing.

She said “Over the years, the Lagos State government under the current administration of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu through the Ministry of health has continued to deliver on its mandate to all residents in the state.

The government has strengthened its maternal and child health policies programs and upgraded and constricted new health facilities to provide access and affordable mother and Child health care services, hence reducing the high rate of morbidity and mortality among women and under 5 children in the state.”

State Commissioner For Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, represented by the Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry, Mr. Olusegun Ogboye, said the programme was in line with the annual practice of the state to celebrate the first Babies in commitment of the state government to Maternal and Child health Care as well as providing quality services to Lagosians.

Ogboye urged them to register with Lagos insurance scheme to further enjoy bounties create by the state government.

Mothers of the first Babies of year 2024 also expressed gratitude to God and the state government for safe deliveries and supports.

They appreciated the government for the feasible infrastructure upgrading and the priority given to health sector in the state.

Baby Echo Harry-Ameh, a male child weighing three point six kilogrammes was delivered 12:04 am on Monday at Badagry General Hospital while the Salaudeen Male twins weighing three kilogrammes and three point Five kilogrammes were born at 12:07 am at the Maternal and Child Centre, Amuwo-Odofin, among others.
