Wife Of President Tinubu Hails Kwara State Governor’s Exceptional Leadership

Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has commended the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, describing him as an exceptional leader who has made significant contributions to the state and its people.

During her visit, which entered its second day, Mrs Tinubu accompanied by notable figures including the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, and other first ladies, inaugurated several key projects which included the distribution of 10,000 professional kits to midwives in the North Central region.

She also inaugurated the General Tunde Idiagbon Flyover in Ilorin, a gesture that Cecilia Idiagbon, the widow of the late general, described as memorable and a testament to Governor Abdulrazaq’s respect for history.

Senator Tinubu later visited the Innovation Hub, designed as Kwara’s version of Silicon Valley, aimed at nurturing future tech leaders and addressing local developmental challenges.

I am so glad with what I have seen. This is amazing, and I will tell the President. You (Governor) truly love your people,” she said while being shown around the multi-billion Naira facility by its Managing Director, Temi Kolawole.

The visit sparked a conversation about her “Dream Centre” idea, which aims to provide underprivileged children with opportunities to excel.

This dream reflects the Governor’s vision for his people,” she said.

The President’s wife proceeded to the site of the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hospital, where she unveiled the foundation stone. The hospital, rising from the old civil service clinic in the GRA, is designed to provide premium healthcare services, according to Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed el-Imam.

She distributed professional kits to midwives and commended the Governor and his wife for their hospitality, describing it as “a model for other states.”

This is the standard we want to see in other states,” she said. The kits, procured by the Renewed Hope Initiatives, are part of a nationwide programme to retrain 120,000 health workers,” President Tinubu’s said.

The First Lady also announced the launch of the “Free to Shine” campaign for HIV, Hepatitis, and Syphilis in Kwara the following day.

Senator Tinubu officially opened the Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari Flyover in Ilorin. Named after the Emir of Ilorin, the flyover enhances the city’s road network and reduces travel time.

She also toured the Sugar Factory Film Studio, a key legacy project of the Abdulrazaq administration

Governor Abdulrazaq commended the First Lady for her efforts to support health workers and improve maternal and child health.

The event was attended by dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi and Speaker Yakubu Danladi Salihu.

Senator Tinubu’s three-day official visit will end on Thursday.
