The top 30 were awarded cash prizes ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦1,000,000.

The event was organised by Senator Bashir Lado, Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, to honour the late Abibatu Mogaji Tinubu’s contributions to human development.

Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil who is the Chairman State Council of Ullamas explained that the competition has greatly impacted the lives of so many young reciters who were given Houses, Cars, Hajj trips and Cash awards.

He said the aims was although far beyond the awards, rather, “it was done to serve as prayers and charity for President Tinubu’s mother who spent her life in service of humanity.”

Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, who was the  Chairman of the Programmes, noted that Senator Lado has honoured President Tinubu’s late mother with a competition with the book of Allah which is hoped to comfort her in her grave.

Senator Lado stated that the competition progressed from the ward level to local government areas and finally to the state level.

A total of 30 young Qur’an memorizers received various gifts, including houses, cars, cash prizes of ₦1 million and ₦500,000, and sponsored Hajj trips to Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on behalf of Senator Lado, Mallam Ibrahim explained that all awards were issued via cheques to prevent fraud or failed electronic transfers. He cautioned beneficiaries against engaging directly with bank officials to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.

Mallam Ibrahim, who also serves as Senator Lado’s Special Assistant, said the initiative was designed to empower young Qur’an reciters economically and spiritually.

He noted that it would help them begin new, meaningful lives and continue their dedication to learning and living by the teachings of the Qur’an.

Mallam Ibrahim further expressed optimism that the competition would inspire more youths to participate in future editions, encouraging them to focus on memorising the Holy Qur’an while keeping them away from social vices and criminal tendencies.
