Wolverhampton Wanderers claimed a 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in match day 25 of the English Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England.

With some top four contenders dropping points recently, consistency could be key in the race for Champions League qualification as the race heats up between West Ham, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves.

Wolves opened the scoring after a mistake from goalkeeper Hugo Lloris that allowed Raul Jimenez to volley home a brilliant goal.

Spurs couldn’t contain the Wolves attack and moments later, another costly mistake gave the visitors a comfortable two-goal lead.

A poor pass out by Ben Davies started a Wolves attack and after Daniel Podence’s effort came back off the post, Leandro Dendoncker reacted quickest to rebound the effort into the net.

Conte decided to change Ryan Sessegnon with Dejan Kulusevski after 27 minutes but Spurs remained flat and lacking in ideas against the Wolves defence that has now kept nine clean sheets this season.

Spurs improved after the break but despite recording 17 shots on goal, goalkeeper Jose Sa was comfortable at dealing with what was thrown at him. The scores remained 2-0 to Wolves as the referee blew the final whistle.

The win moves Wolves into seventh place, above Tottenham.
