Women Affairs Minister Congratulates Nigeria’s President

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has felicitated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday.

The Minister described the occasion as “not merely a personal milestone it is a moment for Nigeria to reflect with gratitude on the leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment of a statesman whose life has been synonymous with democratic struggle, national service, and the pursuit of a renewed, more prosperous Nigeria.”

Speaking on her mandate, she said, “As the Minister charged with the welfare of women, families, and the most vulnerable members of our society, I am particularly moved by Mr. President’s deep and abiding commitment to the Nigerian woman.”

According to the Minister, “His Excellency has consistently demonstrated that the empowerment of women is not an afterthought but a cornerstone of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

“From targeted social investment programmes to deliberate policy actions that expand opportunities for women across all sectors, the President’s leadership has given the Ministry of Women Affairs a bold mandate and the institutional support to pursue it with vigour,” she added.

Minister Sulaiman-Ibrahim also highlighted the declaration of 2026 as the Year of the Family.

“It is also deeply significant that His Excellency has graciously declared 2026 the Year of the Family a proclamation that resonates profoundly with the core mandate of this Ministry

“The Nigerian family is the bedrock upon which our society is built,” adding that the declaration “has offered a framework for addressing some of our most pressing social challenges from child welfare and gender-based violence to the care of the elderly and persons with disabilities.” The Minister noted.

She affirmed the Ministry’s commitment “to translating that declaration into concrete programmes and measurable outcomes for families across all thirty-six states and the Federal Capital Territory.”

Praying for the President, Ibrahim said, “As you mark this new year of your life, Mr. President, we pray that Almighty God grants you continued good health, wisdom, strength, and longevity.

May the labour of your hands yield fruits that endure, and may Nigeria rise, under your watch, to claim its rightful place among the great nations of the world.”

“Happy 74th Birthday, Your Excellency. Aso Rock is proud. Nigeria is grateful.” The Minister added.
