The African Development Bank (AfDB) has revealed that one-third of all registered small businesses in Africa are owned by women.
However, Africa’s women entrepreneurs face an estimated $42bn financing gap.
Therefore, the Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) Guarantee for Growth Programme is unlocking up to $3bn in loans for women-led small and medium enterprises.
The AFAWA programme is built on three pillars: Finance, Technical Assistance and Enabling Environment.
