Women’s World Cup: Two Super Falcons Suspended For Opener
Two Super Falcons of Nigeria forwards, Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimatu Ayinde, have been suspended from playing against Canada in their Group B opener in Melbourne on Friday morning.
In the disciplinary preview released by FIFA, both Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimatu Ayinde are declared suspended.
Their suspension is due to expulsion they got in Nigeria’s last matches at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) last year in Morocco.
Both players were sent off in Nigeria’s semi-final match against Morocco in the semi-final clash. Ayinde was expelled in the 48th minute, while Ajibade got her red card following her second yellow card after VAR review in the 70th minute.
