The Postmaster General of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, disclosed this in a statement, explaining that POTMONI aims to provide accessible, convenient, and affordable financial services to Nigerians nationwide and across the globe.

Odeyemi highlighted that POTMONI is an Electronic Money Order Solution specifically designed for NIPOST to advance the Nigerian Postal Service’s mission and national growth. She emphasized that this solution would connect the nation and promote financial inclusion.

The Postmaster General also announced the issuance of a commemorative N250 postage stamp featuring the 2023 World Post Day logo, marking 150 years of the postal service worldwide.

She noted that World Post Day celebrates the establishment of the UPU and serves as an opportunity to educate the public on the vital role of postal services in socio-economic development globally.

Odeyemi reiterated the significance of the postal system in providing essential connectivity between people, businesses, and governments. She added that the theme for this year’s World Post Day, “150 years of enabling communication and empowering people across nations,” reflects Nigeria’s core values and NIPOST’s dedication to fostering communication and national development.
