- Currently, the API offers a single model called “grok-2-image-1212.”
- The model can generate up to 10 images per request, with a limit of five requests per second.
- Images are delivered in JPG format and are priced at $0.07 per image.
Comparison with Competitors
- Black Forest Labs, which partnered with xAI to launch image generation on Musk’s social network X, charges $0.05 per image.
- Ideogram, another image generation provider, charges as high as $0.08 per image.

Limitations
- The API currently doesn’t support options to adjust image quality, size, or style.
