The relocation of the College of Agriculture from Buni Yardi in Gujba Local Government Area to Damaturu, the state capital, Yobe State, Northeast, Nigeria, five years ago has evidently not sat well with the indigenes as they have demanded the return of the college.

Speaking to newsmen, some community youth leaders argued that the school was relocated five years ago due to security reasons which have been resolved as many schools that were closed and relocated have since returned and began their sessions.

Mr Abba Musa, a resident speaking for the Buni Yadi Youth Coalition, said, “Since the other schools were returned, why has the College of Agriculture which is the only higher institution we have not been returned?

Many of our youth in the town who graduated from secondary schools can not afford to proceed with their education as a result of financial problems.

“If the college is in the town like before, many of the youths can proceed with their education in the college because they will have time to manage their businesses and schooling simultaneously and they will have less transportation cost,” he said.

Another youth leader, Ya’u Haruna, appealed to the state government to return the college of agriculture as Buni Yardi is now as safe as any other part of the state saying that the location of the School of Special Forces and more military presence in the town has improved security in the town.
