Young Nigerian Treks 700km To Abuja To Thank Defence Chief’s Leadership

A 29-year-old driver from Gombe State, Mallam Suleiman Rabiu has trekked over 700km in appreciation of the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa’s leadership qualities and style.
Mallam Suleiman, who left Gombe State on February 12, 2024, arrived in Abuja on February 28, 2024, after spending 16 days on the road, despite the unfriendly weather conditions.
The spirited young man said; “he embarked on the journey to show his appreciation for the admirable leadership qualities of the CDS.”
According to him, the security of lives and property has greatly improved since General CG Musa assumed office.
He said that the people-centric philosophy of leadership of the CDS was what motivated him to identify with the Armed Forces Chief.
Speaking further, Rabiu said he braved all odds to start the journey to Abuja to appreciate and commend the CDS for the excellent and exemplary leadership leading to successes recorded in various theaters of operation across the country.
He maintained that his action is a testimony to the improved security enjoyed in the country, stressing that before now, it was almost impossible to embark on such a journey without encountering any hazard occasioned by insecurity in the North East.
Mallam Rabiu was received on behalf of the CDS by the Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Assistant Director Defence Headquarters Provost, Major Nneka Olima, and the Special Assistant to the CDS, Alhaji Hashim Hussaini. Brigadier General Gusau.
He commended the young man for identifying with the Military, particularly the Chief of Defence Staff.
General Gusau also assured the adventurer of the CDS’s continued dedication and commitment to ensuring maximum security in the Country.
He told the trekker that the Armed Forces, under the leadership of General Musa, are people-centric and committed to defending the tenets of democracy and ensuring the sustenance of Mr. President’s Renewed Hope agenda for the country.
