The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Dr. Maryam Isma’il Keshinro has affirmed her readiness to canvass partnerships with international organisations for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Dr Keshinro said the move will enable the Scheme record greater achievements.
She stated this when she led some management staff of the Ministry on a familiarisation visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The Permanent Secretary advocated increased funding, additional personnel, and enhanced infrastructural development for the Scheme to ensure more effective and efficient service delivery.
She commended successive managers of the Scheme for mentoring Corps Members in leadership, in addition to the entrepreneurial training programmes that have produced many young entrepreneurs.
Dr. Keshinro, who performed her national service in Abia State in 1997, lauded the role of Corps Members in promoting national unity and integration.
