The president of the Nigeria Youth, Ambassador Abdullahi Walli has disclosed that the country’s youths have a common goal in the forthcoming 2023 general election to vote for a credible candidate with good moral conduct that will savage the nation.
Ambassador Walli made this statement in Abuja, the nation’s capital while speaking to Voice of Nigeria on the contributions of youths to the Socio-Economic and Political growth of Nigeria.
He said, “the time has come for all of us to see and come together as youths, women and children to see how best we can contribute our quota and because this 2023 must come to be, I look forward for us as youths to see that we come and have a common grounds and throw our weight behind a credible candidate”.
Walli warned politicians in the country against vote buying as youths and every other citizen of the country are no longer interested in money politics.
“As it is today, people no longer want to feel this money, come with the money, they will take it but they will definitely vote for the right candidate”, he said.
Ambassador Walli while speaking on the current administration, commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for coming up with youth empowerment programmes but said that the implementation was poor and also sabotaged by some government officials which in turn contributed immensely to youth’s frustrations in the country.
“To some extent, they tried their best by way of coming with lots of empowerment programmes like the trader money, the market women, Npower, so many numerous of them but unfortunately, the implementation was poor”.
Mr. Walli who stated that his Organisation is not a political organization said they identify with politicians vying for elective positions that listen to youths, women and also care for children.
He finally called on all Nigerians to come together and contribute their quota to the development of Nigeria.
