The Gubernatorial Candidate of Young Progressive Party YPP, Dr Sunday Opoke has promised to restore permanent peace in all parts Ebonyi State if elected as Governor of the State in the forthcoming general election.
Dr Opoke also pledged to end insecurity in the State and to make sure that no one takes arms against his brother in the State again.
Opoke made these promises during the Izhia Christian Union’s Prayer summit and thanksgiving service held at Ezzangbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State.
Opoke said “I will rule the people of the State as the Governor with fear of God and will use gospel to change people’s bad attitude and to give them orientation that will change their mindset for a better Ebonyi State”
“People will see reasons to do things well in our government. The resources of the State which God has endowed will be used to make Ebonyi people very comfortable and rich”
The highlight of the Programme was the endorsement of the candidate by the Christian Union.
The National President of the Christian Union, Mrs Patricia Ede thanked Opoke for honoring their invitation.
Mrs Ede prayed for the peace and success of the forthcoming general election across Nigeria.
The theme of the prayer summit is ‘Izhia Celebrates Jesus Christ ‘.
