Yuletide: Police to improve security in Niger State

The Nigerian Police command in Niger state has reiterated its readiness to provide adequate security before, during and after Christmas/New Year festivities in the State.

The Commissioner of Police Monday Bala Kuryas who stated this in a statement by the spokesperson of the Command DSP Wasiu Abiodun said an Operation order has been issued to Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs on security measures in their respective areas for peaceful conduct during the festivities.

“Residents of the State are equally assured of sufficient deployment of personnel to churches, recreation centres, and other public places during the period

“Members of the public most especially vehicle owners/drivers are admonished to be wary of night journies and overspeeding during travels to avoid vehicular accidents on the road.” 

The statement added that parents and guardians are advised to prevail on their wards against any act of public disturbance as the Command will not hesitate to clamp down on any miscreant who may want to disrupt public peace while the ban on use of fireworks, knockouts, bangers and other explosive devices is still in force.

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Monday Bala Kuryas, while felicitating with Christian faithfuls in the State for the Yuletide season and commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, wishes Christian faithfuls in the State Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
