Zamfara State: Gov. Lawal Reduces Ministries to 16
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has signed an executive order reducing the State ministries from 28 to 16 with the aim of improving quality service delivery.
This was announced via a statement issued in Gusau, the State capital, by Malam Nuhu Anka, the Director General, Media and Communication, Office of the Governor.
The governor noted that the restructure of government ministries and agencies is aimed at reducing cost of governance and improving quality service delivery.
“The restructure is to realize the rescue mission of Lawal’s administration in the State.
“The restructure will also affect other government departments, agencies as well as parastatals with a view to ensuring effectiveness, functionality and avoid redundancy,” he said.
Lawal affirmed that people of proven integrity and hard work will be appointed to man the ministries for enhanced governance that would develop the State.
The governor, therefore, urged people of the State to support government policies and programmes.
“The restructuring policy will create more opportunities and provide more jobs for citizenry and solidify government operations.
“Our people should also continue to pray for the restoration of peace and tranquility to the State,” the governor added.
