Zamfara To Partner With Swedish Govt on Agriculture, Others

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, North-West, Nigeria, has expressed his anticipation to partner with Sweden in various sectors such as mining, agriculture, renewable energy, education, and healthcare.

In a statement by Sulaiman Bala Idris, spokesperson to the governor, discussions regarding this partnership were held with the Swedish ambassador, Annika Hahn-Englund, focusing on implementing projects beneficial to the state and its people.

Governor Lawal noted his commitment to attracting foreign investment and international support. According to him, the proposed ‘collaboration with Sweden presents a golden opportunity’ to achieve this goal.

Sweden has developed numerous modern agricultural techniques such as precision farming, which, if introduced to Zamfara, could help improve crop yields, thereby ensuring a more efficient food system and enhancing food security in the state.”

Ambassador Hahn-Englund reaffirmed Sweden’s commitment to offering technical assistance to Zamfara in key areas.
