Zonal Primary School Games Kick-Off in Nasarawa State

The first North Central Zonal primary school sports competition has kicked off in Nasarawa State.

The sports coordinator, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Malam Zakari Ibrahim, said the competition aimed at preparing the Pupils for this year’s National primary school games expected to be hosted in Abuja.

He said that the major objective of hosting the North Central competition in Nasarawa State is to expose the hidden talents of our Youths and to ultimately win the overall trophy.

According to Ibrahim, the competition will last for four days with 7 states namely; Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, Plateau, Benue, and FCT.

He further said 6 states have conveyed their intention to participates in the Zonal games.

Highlight of the opening ceremony of the games was the ball kicked by the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Muhammad Dan’azimi, which was accompanied by the Permanent Member 2, Hon. Musa Usman Sule, Hajia Hashiya Ahmed, Board Secretary amongst others.
