10th Assembly: Gombe Rep Emerges PDP Consensus Candidate for Minority Whip

Ahead of the inauguration of the 10th House of Representatives and the Senate on Tuesday, 13th June 2023, Hon. Ali Isah J.C (representing Balanga/ Billiri constituency in Gombe State) has emerged as the consensus candidate for the position of Minority Whip (as zoned to the North) under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Minority Caucus.
This was following an official endorsement by forty-nine (49) lawmakers-elect at a meeting of Northern PDP Caucus in Abuja.
Other contestants in the race were Hon. Beni Lar from Plateau State and Hon. Laori Komati from Adamawa State- both returning members of the 10th House of Representatives.
The Northern PDP Caucus says the action became imperative to guide the next speaker of the 10th House, particularly the minority leadership slot.
Other members of the Minority Caucus will hold their elections separately.
