2023 AFCON: Peseiro Reveals Plans To Beat Guinea-Bissau
Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro has revealed plans to win the next match against Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.
Peseiro, during a press conference aired his feelings and expectations towards the next game against Guinea Bissau.
“After the winning spirit against the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire, on the 18th of January, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are expected to continue the race with the same fighting spirit against their opponent Guinea Bissau, he said.
While talking with confidence, the head coach of the Super Eagles said that the team has to improve with the ‘same confidence and more confidence’. He also talked about commitment, noting that there is no room for the players to relax at this crucial stage of the competition.
In response to a question concerning the Guinea Bissau team, José Peseiro reiterated that the opponent is a great team with good players but his responsibility is to think and plan effectively towards the next match.
His said ‘’We have to play with commitment, capacity and full of confidence.’’
On injury aspect, the coach informed that Alhassan Yusuf will not be available for the next match but the team has a reliable and numerous replacement, adding that he always thinks about the plan and the next game.
In terms of formation, José Peseiro revealed that each match comes with different peculiarities. The previous game is different from the next game.
According to him ‘’We can change our strategy based on the match we have.’’
Kenneth Omeruo, one of the veteran of the Super Eagles team, also aired his views on the previous game against Cote d’Ivoire, stating that it was an interesting as well as a tough game.
‘’There is no easy game. A lot of big teams are struggling to win hence the need for Nigeria to focus on the next game.’’
He said players have to be focus, confront the next game as it comes and approach it with seriousness.
In reference to the slogan of the Super Egales Let’s Do it Again, Kenneth Omeruo sounded confidently that the Super Eagles squad can win the AFCON 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire. He finally admitted that the coach has greatly incited the players in the concentration aspect.
