The Independent National Electoral Commission officials and the security agents posted to oversee the security situation in the polling units are working in synergy for the peaceful conduct of the presidential and national elections.
This was made known by the Police Public Relations Officer Gombe state command; ASP Mahid Muazu Abubarkar who visited all the polling units in Herwagana Central Primary School in Gombe LGA. “All is moving smoothly. I have asked the presiding officers if there is any challenge from our officers and they said there is a cooperation between the presiding officer and the security agent posted to oversee the security situation”.
He urged the electorates to maintain the rhythm and support them while they discharge their duty.
“The electorates are responding accordingly and I advised them to maintain the tempo and support us while we discharge our duty. That is just the massage I came to pass across. Let’s see how we can maintain this level of peace we have at the polling centres. After casting our votes and everywhere is peaceful we can go to our homes and sleep. There is life after the election.
ASP Mahid added that if there is any bridge of security they are ready to respond with the police operation outfit monitoring all the polling centres”.
“We don’t have anything to fear. People should continue to vote freely without fear of anything that might come up, we have all deployments in place in case anything might arise we are ready for that and that is why even before the election we said we are fully ready for the election”.
